Go7 Enables Two-way Interlining For Worldticket Partner Airlines

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – GO7 has announced a development that could simplify interline cooperation for its WorldTicket partner airlines. Through its W2-coded carrier, FLEXFLIGHT, partners can now establish two-way interlining with more than 300 airlines worldwide.

The update follows FLEXFLIGHT’s accession to the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Multilateral Interline Traffic Agreement (MITA). MITA is a widely used framework that allows airlines to interline without negotiating lengthy bilateral agreements. Instead, once an airline signs a short concurrence form and activates the partnership via the IATA portal, it can begin cooperating under standard IATA terms.

What changes for airlines

Traditionally, interlining arrangements between carriers have required detailed bilateral contracts. These negotiations could take months and often delayed cooperation. By joining MITA, FLEXFLIGHT streamlines this process for airlines within the WorldTicket by GO7 ecosystem.

Partner carriers can now gain easier access to new markets and provide customers with more seamless connections. Interline agreements will also be simpler to manage administratively, as the settlement of accounts will follow familiar IATA procedures.

For travel professionals, the development is significant because it could expand the number of viable itineraries bookable through participating airlines. With two-way interlining in place, over 190 markets worldwide become more easily accessible for carriers using the WorldTicket platform. This could help smaller or regional airlines broaden their distribution reach without heavy investment in direct interline negotiations.

Peer Winter, Chief Distribution Officer at GO7, described the move as a way to simplify what has often been a complex process:Interlining used to involve months of contract negotiations and guesswork. FLEXFLIGHT’s MITA status now empowers carriers to connect to our sub-hosted partner airlines with ease, turning our W2 model into a dependable gateway for reciprocal partnerships, resulting in improved load factors. By enabling two-way interlining across the WorldTicket ecosystem, we’re helping our partner carriers access new markets, offer seamless travel itineraries, and convert more demand into real incremental revenue.”

FLEXFLIGHT’s role

FLEXFLIGHT is GO7’s W2-coded carrier and plays a central role in the company’s distribution model. Its MITA participation follows two key milestones:

  • IOSA certification (IATA Operational Safety Audit), which confirms compliance with international safety standards.
  • Full IATA membership, a prerequisite for joining MITA and interlining under IATA terms.

These steps position FLEXFLIGHT to act as the operational gateway for interline partnerships within the WorldTicket ecosystem.

For travel agencies, tour operators, and consolidators, this development means greater availability of combined itineraries across airlines that may not have previously been connected. Customers may see more through-ticketing options, baggage transfers, and smoother journeys across multiple carriers.

For airlines, the simplified framework reduces barriers to entry for new partnerships and may help improve load factors by filling seats through additional connecting traffic.

The addition of FLEXFLIGHT to IATA’s MITA marks a practical shift for GO7’s partner airlines, offering a faster and more efficient path to interline cooperation. While the long-term effects will depend on adoption by carriers, the move could enhance global connectivity and create new opportunities for airlines and their distribution partners.
