HONG KONG – Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced the opening of Mandarin Oriental, Vienna on 20 October 2025, marking the luxury brand’s first hotel in Austria.

Situated on Riemergasse 7 in the city’s prestigious First District, the property is ideally positioned for travellers seeking Vienna’s rich cultural, musical, and artistic heritage. The hotel is housed in a heritage-listed Art Nouveau building, originally designed by Alfred Keller in 1908 as a courthouse, and carefully restored to combine historic elegance with contemporary design.

A blend of heritage and modern sophistication

Mandarin Oriental, Vienna offers 138 rooms and suites, including three Mandarin Signature Suites and a grand Royal Suite. Each has been designed to merge modern comfort with the timeless charm of Viennese Art Nouveau, featuring refined materials, natural light, and a soft, sophisticated palette.

Dining restaurant

General Manager Mario Habicher commented: “Our aim is to create a place that is both a retreat for international travellers and a meeting place for locals with an appreciation of the extraordinary.”

For events and meetings, the property features seven multifunctional boardrooms and a 140-sqm ballroom, blending state-of-the-art facilities with Viennese sophistication.

“Vienna is ready for a new culinary chapter that surprises, inspires and offers enjoyment at the highest level. Our guests can expect a flavourful journey in a stylish yet inviting setting. Good cuisine should be accessible to everyone who enjoys savouring it, not exclusive.'” said Thomas Seifried, Executive Chef, Mandarin Oriental, Vienna.

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental provides a holistic wellness retreat with seven treatment rooms, including a couple’s suite and VIP treatment area. Facilities include an indoor pool, state-of-the-art fitness centre, and a menu of therapies that integrate Mandarin Oriental’s global spa philosophy with local traditions.
