Former Ohio State Basketball Forward Sean Stewart Announces Transfer Destination

On the heels of Ohio State signing another replacement to a revamped roster by landing center Joshua Ojianwuna, a former Buckeye announced where he'll play next year. Sean Stewart only lasted in Columbus for one underwhelming year before hitting the transfer portal. He announced that he'll head west to join the Oregon Ducks.

This will be Stewart's third team in three years. He began his college career as a highly touted five-star recruit and McDonald's All-American who would commit to Jon Scheyer and Duke. But things didn't work out in Durham, so Jake Diebler reached out in what looked like, at the time, a big-time get for Ohio State. However, Stewart didn't fare much better in Columbus. He would start 30 games in Scarlet and Gray, but would only average 5.7 points per game and less than six rebounds per contest.

The Ducks are banking on getting an ultra-athletic kid who maybe just hasn't found the right fit yet. Time will tell, but time is also running out for that corner to be turned.

Diebler has rounded out his roster with the additions of Christoph Tilly, Gabe Cupps, Brandon Noel, and the aforementioned Joshua Ojianwuna. After striking out on transfer portal additions last year, Diebler is hoping for better luck in year two.
