Carr Shocker Moves Cowboys Qb Names Into The News

Derek Carr has been dealing with a shoulder injury that called into question his availability for the 2025 season - and also had many critics wondering about mysterious ulterior motives - but now comes the final shocker ...
Carr announced his retirement from the NFL on Saturday.
The New Orleans Saints issued a statement detailed that Carr experienced pain in his right shoulder while preparing for the season, with surgery as the option for the 34-year-old should he choose to somehow extend his career.
But there was no guarantee of that. So the Saints QB room is shuffling in ways that even touch base with the Dallas Cowboys.
“Upon reflection of prayer, and in discussion with Heather, I’ve decided to retire from the National Football League,” Carr said. “For more than 11 years, we have been incredibly blessed, and we are forever grateful and humbled by this experience. It’s difficult to find the right words to express our thanks to all the teammates, coaches, management, ownership, team officials and especially the fans who made this journey so special. Your unwavering support has meant the world to us.”The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have laid claim to the NFC South title for the last four seasons.
It's been 11 seasons in the NFL for Carr, who made two Pro Bowls with the Raiders before moving to New Orleans ...
Where this year he was supposed to be coached by former Dallas QB and coordinator Kellen Moore, the Saints new head coach ... and where up until recently one of his backups could've been former Cowboys "folk hero'' Ben DiNucci.
But the departure of Carr, who will give up the $30 million guaranteed this season on his contract but will keep his recent $10 million roster bonus and signing bonus, leaves the room a bit bare.
The Saints' QB room is currently occupied by 2025 Round 2 pick Tyler Shough, 2024 fourth-round selection Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener and ... not DiNucci anymore, as the former Dallas late-round pick was recently cut.
DiNucci this weekend is attending the Falcons rookie camp, trying to catch on.
Carr this weekend is moving on.
And Kellen Moore is left searching for answers.
