Woman Lied About Car Accident
Location: North Carolina, USA
My wife was in a car accident about 3 weeks ago, where she was going straight on a two lane road in the left lane. A woman in the right lane turned left, hitting the front of my wife’s car. When police showed up, the cars were moved, and they took the statements of both the other woman and my wife. Upon contacting insurance, they claimed that this was my wife’s fault. Looking at the police report, they used the other woman’s story (my wife was driving behind her and then hit her drivers side door while she was turning left). Nowhere in the police report is there any mention to my wife’s story. The damage on the woman’s car is only on the drivers side door, and my wife’s car on the right side bumper. The police report claims that my wife hit the left rear door first, and then the drivers side door. Insurance doesn’t seem to be doing much. I have pictures of my wife’s car damage and the other cars damage, but unfortunately pictures of the other woman’s car do not show the back door, as there was no damage so I didn’t think it was important. I was going to try to take a new picture of the woman’s car, but she lives on a private road/driveway, and I didn’t want to compromise anything by trespassing to get a picture. Any advice for what my next steps should be? Thanks in advance for reading this book ????
