My Husband Is Being Framed. Is There Anything We Can Do About It?
TLDR: car deal gone sour. customer accuses my partner of stealing his $1k deposit. can something be done about this? camera footage will verify it was not him.
Location: TX
My husband has been in car sales for over five years. he’s extremely knowledgeable and good at selling. unlike most- he hates screwing people over. He sells out of a dealership where there are multiple vehicle brands involved, but only ONE finance manager in the entire vicinity.
he sells to a guy,the guy goes into finance and then when finance requests his $1k deposit, the guy tells the finance manager that he gave my husband his money already. (obviously the deal is paused because you can’t sell to someone who doesn’t have the money.) the finance department requests the deposit from my husband. my husband very clearly does not have the deposit.
we share an account-money never hit the bank. my husband already has thousands in savings stacked up. my husband would never steal such a small amount from the job that puts food on the table. they’re checking cameras today, they apparently have a camera angled towards his office but there are none in the office itself.
my husband JUST switched to this dealership. he loves it there and now he’s being accused of stealing???
Is there anything legally that can be done about this? I’ve been framed before and it’s an absolutely helpless feeling. my husband is so angry and he says he feels like everyone there now thinks of him as a thief.
