Old Lady Went To The Hospital Bc My Dog Barked At Her
Hi 26(F) living in a condo. Location: NJ. i was walking into my apt & my puppy barked at the lady next door about 10ft away. i had full control of his leash (its the one where it ties around your waist so even handsfree he wouldnt have been able to get away from me. she got startled and started freaking out. i apologized and quickly went inside to remove him out of her sight. she knocked on our door - making my dog barked again.. and grabbed my hand and put it to her chest to feel her heart beating fast. i told her to calm down & breathe slowly because i know how an anxiety attack feels like. she wasnt listening and said im gonna go to a hospital. i told her ill bring her or call the ambulance for her and she kept insisting saying its fine & that someones waiting for her downstairs. i told her ill help her downstairs and talk with that person and she kept saying “its fine its fine i dont want you in my sight. im not broke. humans are worse than a dog barking” I recorded this conversation just in case. is it possible for her to sue us??
EDIT: thank you all for the inputs! i was getting anxious myself but after some thought & reading your comments i feel a lot better about it. bought a new leash, & looking for trainers to help with his barking issue. & hopefully shes okay and seeks mental support
