Towing Companies Charging When Closed. Is That Legal?

Card image cap

So I live in Colorado and recently accidently got my car towed, when my personal car got towed from my downtown area it was 1AM on a Saturday (so Late Friday night). I called the non-emergency police line on Saturday and was and was able to find my car as it was in a private towing companies lot. Firstly, I was never given any information on where my car was located, no email/text/call, I only got the info from calling the police department directly. Secondly when I called on the next night, so Sunday night, I was told that their hours were 8-3 Monday through Friday. However, they charge an hourly storage fee so my bill for getting towed went from a base charge of around 250ish to around 350$ is what I've been told. I asked the person on the phone if my car was being charged for storage even though I physically could not get it over the weekend and he said "correct". I was curious if this is legal in Colorado? This just seems so insanely predatory and illegal to charge someone for a "storage fee" when there was legit not a single second that I could have gotten my car. Similarly is it legal to be charged 100ish dollars for the length of time they had my car? Once again it just feels incorrect, but I also understand that towing companies are known for and allowed to charge wickedly expensive fees so this could just be me coping. But due to the fact I was never aware of where it was at also, would I be able to ask for a refund or partial coverage of the bill? Or once again would I have been screwed if the police didn't help me out when I called them? I know I will more than likely not enjoy the answer I'm given, but here's hoping!

Thanks
