My Son's Mom Went On A Meth Binger And Now She's Trying To Take My Son Over State Lines To Mississippi

Location: Baton rouge LA.

I have been separated from my son's mom and for about five years, we were never married, and i'm not on the birth certificate. She's had a lot of death in her family over this past year, and she said, some terrible things happen to her that I wouldn't wish on anyone. Since we have split up, our living, arrangements have been inconsistent, she has not carried a full time job and has added drugs to the mix.

She has refused to put me on the birth certificate. But ive had majority custody since we split. The only time she had the boy more was last year and that because she changed schools last min and I wasn't able to make it to work and bring him in. For that one school year I played weekend parent.

She went on a bad meth spree. She called me freaking out going through meth psychosis. I ended up having to leave work and get the police to pick her up and put her on a 10 day hold. Shes out now and even though she's out ive kept the "full custody" thing going on my side. She just called saying she's wanting to take the boy to her mama's house in mississippi, who is also an ex drug addict. Even though we already had an agreement that the only time that she was allowed to take him was if she was staying at her aunt's house. (only sober person on her side). She started to freak out and say that i'm not going to keep the boy from her and that I have no legal rights and that if she wanted too she would take the boy on friday off the bus. I told her I could not stop her, but if she did that, we would have to go to court. She kept saying I have no power and I can't stop her.

Im now just trying to keep my son safe, and im thinking about keeping him out of school till I can talk to a lawyer.

I should also note: not only do i have the most recent time with police, but she's also been in a mental institution 3 times in the past 2 years, let someone abuse my son when he was 3 (police got involved we have the reports and everything saved plus her lying and covering up for her then both friend).

I just need help im scared for my son and at this point im worried that she's going to run with him if she gets him.

Ps. Im clean, I have a medical marijuana card, ive had the same job for 6 years, and been in the same house for 4. I have all the things to give my boy the life he deserves. Please let me know what I can do.
