My Mother Won’t Leave Our House And Claims She Has “squatter’s Rights”

EDIT: I’m deeply sorry, I should’ve mentioned if we do kick her out she, HAS a home. She rents an apartment but she’s a hoarder- she uses it as storage. We’re trying to convince her to go live there but she gets extremely agitated and abusive if we try. To clarify, my dad AGREES and WANTS to evict her just as much as I do.

My mom is severely mentally ill with bipolar T1 and refuses to leave my step dad’s house. She does not pay rent, groceries, or contribute in any way- other than washing my clothes after weeks of begging. She, claims because she’s received mail here, (packages) for three years, it means she apparently is allowed to stay. It’s been roughly three years since she’s been squatting here.

We absolutely hate her. She verbally abused me, nags, tears down things without consent. (She’s completely dug up the front yard/tore out all the cabinets in the kitchen completely without permission.

She’s literally making me want to end my life. I’ve considered straight up leaving to go to homeless shelters.. I’ve been psych hospitalized multiple times because of her. My dad wants her out too but… is hesitant for some reason?? He thinks the eviction would be traumatizing for me.

How do we get her out?
