My Ex Factory Reset My Computer Before Giving It Back To Me

Location: West Virginia

My ex and I had a really messy break up and I left his house abruptly. He still has a lot of my belongings that he is basically refusing to return. He had my laptop that I was letting him use while we lived together, but it had all my school stuff on it. Well he’s finally returned it, but he factory reset it and everything is gone. We are also in a custody case since we have a child. This man is withholding/ destroying and ruining things I left at his house that I am trying to get back.

Unrelated kind of but I also saw on his phone when he was standing beside me looking at his photos that he had taken a picture of my social security card and birth certificate before giving those back as well.

I don’t really know what I’m asking lol I kind of just want to know if it was legal for him to delete all of my stuff from my computer and if there’s any way I can legally have him delete the photos of my information.
