My Best Friend Was Hit By A Car Walking Her Dog In Her Neighborhood Using A Crosswalk. The Woman Who Hit Her Cooperated, But Almost 2 Months Later No Charges Have Been Filed And Justice Has Not Been Delievered.

As the title says my best friend was killed walking her dog in her neighborhood when a car hit her, she wasn't breathing at the scene and was declared braindead at the hospital and taken off life support. This has been the most difficult time of my life, I lost my best friend because they couldn't drive properly, and her family has been so grief strucken (reasonably so) that they haven't attempted to get a lawyer. She was hit while on a cross walk, walking back home. Not only that but the cross walk she was crossing was a SCHOOL ZONE. I don't understand how you can drive so recklessley in a school zone and not see her. She is tall for a girl and her dog is absolutely massive, about 110 pounds. Because of all this her family is left with medical bills, vet bills, funerary bills, and lawyer bills. Everytime me or her family have talked to the police all they say is it's still under investigation. They won't release her identity and nothing has been charged against her. They immeaditely declared that she wasn't speeding a few hours after the accident. Despite having no evidence. It feels like the police are trying to protect this woman and I have no idea why. I'm out of options and really want answers and justice delivered.
