Is This Legal In Oklahoma? Working Over 40 Hours With No Flex Time?

I’m a salaried employee in location: Oklahoma, and my contract states that a minimum of 40 hours per week is required, but that “significantly more hours may be required from time to time.” It also says I may need to work before/after normal hours, attend weekend events, make-up Saturdays, and that working “as many hours as necessary to complete job tasks” is considered an essential duty.
Here’s the issue:
- I’m scheduled 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday.
- I’m regularly asked to attend meetings that go past 5 PM (some lasting until 7).
- I’ve also been asked to work Saturdays (about 5 hours), without any flex time or comp day.
- That means I’m working 6 days in a row, well over 40 hours, and still expected to maintain full attendance.
I understand occasional overtime, but this feels like a regular expectation without adjustment. Is this legal under Oklahoma labor laws for salaried employees? And if it is, is there any recourse for setting boundaries or requesting flex time?
