I’m Being Sued By My Ex’s Wife….

Feel free to sprinkle in some advice because I need it.

March of this year my ex was arrested for felony spouse abuse against his current wife. Our 11 year old son was present for this so it sent us down a spiral of custody court, which is fun for no one but I need to protect our son. I’m now being sued by his wife for defamation and emotional distress she claims this has caused her.

For just a tad bit of background on this mess…. My ex and I have not been together since before our son’s birth. It’s been years of court dates with my son telling teachers that he has been abused at his dad’s house and even a CPS case due to my son saying that his stepmom has harmed him. We’ve had court dates because my ex’s wife has signed herself as mom on medical documents and also tried to attack me in public at my son’s baseball game. There were months at a time where the judge ordered her to stay away from our son, but regardless of all the things that have been done my ex and his current wife are still together and now they state they are stronger than ever.

So what does everyone think? Am I gonna owe this woman $25,000?

This is what the documents state I’m being sued for. ⬇️

“knowingly made false and malicious statements about Plaintiff, including but not limited to allegations of domestic abuse and alcohol misuse, with the intent to damage her reputation and to influence custody proceedings.”

???? My son spoke to a mediator during these court proceedings and stated he witnessesd her drink a lot and it makes her crazy. So maybe that’s what she’s referring to.

“As a result of the Defendants' actions, Plaintiff suffered severe emotional distress, embarrassment, reputational damage, and incurred significant legal expenses and lost income.”

???? She never made a court appearance and I never posted anything on social media.
