I Don’t Want To Live With My Roommate’s Boyfriend

Location: Florida So my roommate who was my friend at the time and I signed a lease last year in January 2025 until April 2026, we were overall great as roommates and had no big issues. She got a boyfriend five months ago, I did overall genuinely like him at first, he was annoying but that’s not my issue. Around Septemberish/October he started spending the night near daily and they would leave messes and I told them they need to clean up after themselves whatever, they did. I however told him recently if he is going to keep spending the night here he needs to start contributing to the apartment and stop living here like a bum and rent free, I am not paying for a man to live rent free here. A few weeks ago we originally made and agreement that when is other lease is up in January he can join our sign our and we can split rent equally. Lately she has (when he’s not around) been complaining about him disrespecting her and his friends disrespecting her, the complaints she’s made about him made me no longer want him living with us cause if he can’t respect her he’s not gonna respect me which is important to me cause I’ll be living with this. I got into a screaming match with them yesterday because I told them I don’t want to permanently live with a man and started freaking out about them breaking up and that stuff causing me issues. She my roommate told me she pays for this apartment so he has the right to live in her room as long as he wants I said no he is his own man and it’s not fair he’s living here. He was also arguing with me similar stuff. I wasn’t gonna say it in front of his face I don’t want him living with us cause she complains about him disrespecting me all the time and instead I said “I don’t want to live with you guys cause if you break up I’m stuck with you” they claim they won’t break up, and he said he will leave the apartment if they do. They also told me he willl be paying rent but not signing the lease. I haven’t told him this yet but I think he needs to sign the lease if he is living here for legal reasons. 1. I don’t want to risk us getting evicted. 2. In the rare case our landlord cares, I don’t want to risk us getting sued for him living here unauthorized.
