Can My Parents Withhold My Medicine?

Location: North Carolina
I have VSS (visual snow syndrome), im 15 and live with my parents, yesterday we went to the neurologist I was prescribed two medications and today I got one of them, I think it's called "Toradol", I get headaches due to my VSS and this supposedly helps, but my parents, mostly my mother, is withholding them till she does "More research", she hasn't been trusting doctors, always doing more research, really just playing doctor herself and thinking SHE knows best.
I had amitriptyline, forced me to stop taking it, then threw it away even though it was making ME feel better emotionally, she didn't give my body time to get used to it. My VSS makes me more sensitive to sound, gives me headaches, derealization, makes it hard to focus, etc.
I REALLY REALLY want to try this medicine, but she's literally withholding it from me, this was prescribed by my neurologist for me to take DAILY, she's not even letting me try once. I'm in drivers Ed, so I understand why she's not letting me have it now since, we don't know how I'll be affected, but she said "You might not even get it", I want to try, I want relief from this even temporarily, but she's gatekeeping my medicine.
Is the illegal? Should I do something about it? Any advice is welcome!
