Accidentally Left An Underaged Friend In Possession Of Alcohol

Card image cap

I(21F) was with two(18F)(18M) coworkers for the afternoon and I had gotten myself a case of mixed drinks at the grocery store. I was sipping on a couple cocktails sitting in my female coworkers passenger seat while waiting on my ride to pick me up, when we decided to go into our workplace off the clock to shop for a couple items.

While checking out, my ride had arrived so I and my female coworker went to her car so I could grab my bag and I had forgotten to grab the case of remaining cocktails, all still sealed lids. Well turns out when my female coworker went home, her mom found the case of cocktails in her car(which is in her mother’s name) and she was reportedly unhinged and went “crazy”. Her mother is now threatening to call my workplace and report me to the police. I know that supplying minors alcohol is a misdemeanor in Location: Tennessee, so I’m wondering what I should do. Is this something that you turn yourself in for? This is my first experience with the law like this and I hate that this mistake will likely leave a permanent stain on my record.

Please excuse any formatting or grammatical errors, I’m on mobile and stressed.
