Seattle Seahawks Poised For Most Picks In 2027 Nfl Draft
The Seattle Seahawks have the fewest picks of any team in next month’s NFL Draft, but at this rate they could have the most for next year’s draft.
Through the first week of free agency, Seattle has had almost every unrestricted free agent either re-sign with the team or sign elsewhere, and have yet to bring in a free agent who would count against them in the compensatory pick formula. Dareke Young’s contract with the Las Vegas Raiders was not anywhere near comp pick territory We still have until the Monday after the NFL Draft to see if the Seahawks add any free agents who would affect the comp pick formula, but it’s doubtful they do anything splashy.
As things stand, the Seahawks are looking at up to a league-high 12 draft picks next year.
Seattle Seahawks’ tentative 2027 draft capital
- Round 1 (native pick)
- Round 2 (native pick)
- Round 3 (native pick)
- Round 4 (native pick)
- Round 4 (Boye Mafe projected comp pick)
- Round 5 (native pick)
- Round 5 (Kenneth Walker projected comp pick)
- Round 5 (Riq Woolen projected comp pick)
- Round 5 (Coby Bryant projected comp pick)
- Round 6 (native pick)
- Round 7 (native pick)
- Round 7 (Michael Jerrell trade)
Four comp picks is the maximum you can get through free agency, so Seattle is in tremendous shape. Those comp picks won’t be formally awarded until next offseason, but everything else should be all systems go for the Seahawks.
If Seattle is so inclined to make a trade this offseason, it certainly makes more sense at this point to take from next year’s pool than further deplete from this year’s selection.
