The NFL has announced that New Orleans Saints defensive back Beanie Bishop will be suspended for the first three games of the 2026 regular season. While not confirmed by the league, The Advocate’s Matthew Paras reported that Bishop’s suspension may be a result of a policy infraction.

The former West Virginia Mountaineer spent the 2024 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers before the Saints made the move to sign Bishop to their practice squad in December of 2025.

In the suspension notice, the NFL made clear that the cornerback’s suspension will not prevent him from participating in practices or preseason games. It will officially take effect once rosters are trimmed down to 53 players.
