Seacoast Thursday Roundup: St. Thomas Softball Blanks Hopkinton, More Scores

HOPKINTON - Abbie Gaynor allowed three hits and struck out eight over five shutout innings as the St. Thomas Aquinas softball team improved to 6-0 with a 13-0 Division III win over Hopkinton on Thursday.
Gaynor also doubled, walked twice, scored three runs and stole a base, while Hailey Anzmann had three hits, including a double, a walk, three RBIs and a run.

Elizabeth Pelletier (two hits, two RBIs), Amelia Anderson (two hits, two runs, two RBIs), Mallory Enman (triple, two runs), Mattie Williams (hit) and Paige Pelletier (hit) all contributed for the Saints.

PENACOOK - Sam Bishop allowed two runs on seven hits, and struck out three over seven innings for Oyster River (6-1) in this Division II win. Bishop also had two hits, including a triple and an RBI.
Kaiya Mercier and Laura Boughton each had two hits for the Bobcats, while Morgan Trela had a two-run double.

YORK, Maine - Piper Catanese had four hits, scored three runs, and drove in two for York (7-0) in this Class B South win.
Maddie Fitzgerald had two hits, including a home run and two RBI for the Wildcats, while Lindsay Rivers had two hits and three RBIs, and Maren Robinson and Bella Santini both had two hits and one RBI.
Sarah Orso had six strikeouts in the win, and also had one hit and one RBI.

PENACOOK - Owen Jacques allowed one run, struck out four and earned this Division II win for Oyster River (7-1).
Landon Wolusky and Cam Sengenberger both threw two scoreless innings for the Bobcats, while Louis Goldberg had two RBIs, and James Saunders had a hit and scored two runs.

DOVER - Graham Willerer pitched four innings, allowed one unearned run on one hit, and struck out seven for STA (2-6) in this Division II loss.
Thaao Papakonstantis had one hit and scored one run for the Saints, while Gabe Carlise had a hit and an RBI, and Conall Ciaschini had one hit.

CONCORD - Talula Gregg scored seven goals, Annita Parmalee had four, and Lizzy Holden added three as St. Thomas Aquinas (6-1) won its second consecutive Division III game.
Kensley Harris added two goals for the Saints, while Reece Anderson, Maia Scanlon and Julia Bryan all had one. Scanlon and Chloe Baker split time in net, combining for six saves. Defensively, Lena Shaheen and Ava Lyder played well in the win.

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Madison Poitras scored seven goals, including the 100th in her career, leading Class A Marshwood (5-0) to this win over Class B York (1-5).
Sarah Theriault added four goals and five assists for the Hawks, while Anna Jennings and Eva Hersey both had one, and Tiegan Boisvert had two assists.
Defensively, Nora Dockham, Lana Emery, Chloe Walker and Lila Manter shined in front of goalie Leigh Twohig (12 saves).
Ava Fontaine had four goals and one assist for York, while Sophia Luchette had two goals, and Ella Neiverth and Emma Joyce both had one. York goalie Piper Schambach had five saves.

Sarah Rademacher, Emmy Granger, Ari Rizzo, Olive Needham and Addy McErlain all had a goal for the Warriors, and Reese Gandt had an assist. WHS goalies Madison Brunelle (five) and Benten Lyford (three) combined for eight saves.
