The NFL has suspended rookie wide receiver Brock Rechsteiner for the first six games of the season, per Ari Meirov.

Rechsteiner, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner, signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent in May. Rechsteiner played three years at Jacksonville State, where he logged 629 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns.

Rechsteiner’s suspension is unfortunate for the rookie wideout, as the wide receiver room is quite crowded, and there was already a slim spot for him. With standout performances from Barion Brown in training camp and now his suspension, Rechsteiner will have a hard time making the roster.

Despite his suspension, the 6-foot-2 wideout will be allowed to continue participating in training camp and during the team’s three preseason games. Rechsteiner’s suspension won’t take place until the conclusion of their preseason week three matchup with the Dallas Cowboys on August 28th. Rechsteiner will miss the first six weeks of the regular season.

The reason for Rechsteiner’s suspension has yet to be disclosed.
