Saints Rookie Brock Rechsteiner, Son Of Wwe Hall Of Famer Scott Steiner, Suspended Six Games By Nfl

Brock Rechsteiner’s rookie season is already off to a rough start.

The Saints wide receiver — and son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner — has been suspended for six games, the NFL announced Thursday.

The exact reason for Rechsteiner’s suspension remains unclear.

Rechsteiner, who signed as an undrafted free agent with the Saints following the draft in April, has a limited chance to make the 53-man roster, but can still be named to a practice squad while suspended.

He still can participate in training camp and the Saints’ three preseason games, allowing him to continue competing for a spot.

Rechsteiner’s chances of making the 90-man preseason roster increased when former Patriots receiver Ja’Lynn Polk abruptly retired at just 24 years old.

Bryan Bresee’s season-ending knee injury also opens up an additional roster spot.

If Rechsteiner does not make New Orleans’ final roster, however, he could follow in his father’s footsteps in WWE, after hinting as such in May.

“I work out with [Bron Breakker] all the time back home. I go fishing with him a lot because he moved back to Georgia. He has really convinced me to, once I’m done playing football, to get into the wrestling business,” Rechsteiner told WDSU-TV.

“I want to play football for as long as I can, give it the best shot I can, but once I’m done playing football, I’ll get into it, for sure. I’ll be getting into WWE.”

Rechsteiner played four seasons with Jacksonville State and finished his career with 630 yards, 52 catches and seven touchdowns in 35 games.

His best moment came when he had an 85-yard touchdown reception on the second play of the second half in a win over Southern Mississippi.
