The Normatec Elite Hips deliver cordless, clinical-grade compression therapy for the hips, IT bands and lower back

Hyperice has expanded its recovery lineup with the launch of the Normatec Elite Hips, the first fully portable dynamic air compression device engineered for the hips, IT bands and lower back.

The new, cordless device transforms a former Normatec add-on into a standalone product. Using the company’s signature air pulse technology, the Normatec Elite Hips mimics the body’s natural muscle pump to promote circulation, reduce inflammation and accelerate recovery. Users can select from seven compression levels (40–110 mmHg) and customize sessions through Bluetooth connectivity to the Hyperice App.

Designed with compression zones, adjustable velcro straps and up to four hours of battery life, the system provides coverage across the hips, glutes, IT bands and lower back. It is also TSA-friendly for travel, and weighs 3.4 pounds, marketed for athletes on the go. The product retails for $599 in the U.S. and CA$799 in Canada. The device will also launch in Europe and the U.K. on November 10 as the Normatec Premier Hips, priced at €599 and £529.

“The hips and lower back are the foundation for a lot of movement,” said Hyperice CEO Jim Huether. “Normatec Elite Hips represents our commitment to making professional-grade recovery technology accessible to everyone. By creating the first standalone hip recovery device with true portability, we’re empowering people to take control of their mobility and movement quality wherever they are.”

A recent study comparing cryotherapy and compression therapy in patients with low back pain found that both reduced discomfort, but only dynamic compression produced statistically significant gains in mobility across multiple measures, including hip flexion and lumbar range.

This year, Hyperice debuted its second-generation contrast therapy devices for knees and shoulders, the Hyperice X 2 line, and partnered with Nike to introduce the Hyperboot, a high-top shoe integrating heat and compression for foot and ankle recovery.

As part of that rollout, Hyperice named Liverpool FC captain Virgil van Dijk its newest global ambassador, pairing the announcement with the Hyperboot’s European and Canadian debut. Van Dijk, who has relied on Hyperice products throughout his career, said the partnership extended his long-standing recovery routine.

The Normatec Elite Hips is now available through Hyperice.com, Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods and REI.
