Supervisor Tried To Offer Food To Team That Was Left Unrefrigerated And Locked In Office Over Weekend.

Title says it all. I work in an alcohol shipping warehouse but it is considered a food facility. Anyways yesterday (Monday)morning, I came in and noticed another supervisor pulling boxes of packaged soup (plastic containers) out of our supervisor office. He said that a driver had given them to us on Friday and he forgot to pass them out. I looked at the boxes and they clearly say that they need to stay refrigerated below 40 degrees.

I expressed my concern about it being in the room for 2 days would lead to potential health issues if consumed and advised him to dispose of it. Turns out he went and put it in our break room fridge and then told the team in the morning meeting that they were welcome to it. No mention to how it was stored.

This didnt sit right with me and I reported it to my senior supervisor citing that we could be held liable if any sickness occurs, not to mention it's unethical to not notify the team of how it was stored, and he went and instructed the other supervisor to throw it away. However this didn't happen till 2+ hours in the shift.

Today I was notified by HR that I was being investigated because of allegedly "targeting" this other supervisor. I recounted my story and other instances of him breaking safety rules that I reported.

This is my first time being investigated by HR and something I do not take lightly as I follow rules and act ethically. I cannot help but feel it was retaliation for reporting safety issues and this health issue.

Not sure how to go forward but It has me worried as this job is the only thing keeping my family going.
