Someone I’ve Been Seeing Briefly Got A Tro From His Ex And Claims He Has “no Clue” As To Why

Obviously I’m done with this guy, but not until I understand what is happening.

I started seeing this person very casually about 5 months ago. He did reveal to me about a month in that he is still “madly in love” with his ex who broke up with him at the start of the year because she got a DUI and wasn’t “there for her.” I realized this situation was messy so I took a step back, but still remained friends with this person. I had no idea what was going on in the background between him and his ex.

Turns out they had continued communication at one point, with her cutting him off but then letting him back into communication periodically. Him and I stopped talking for about a month (my choice) but then out of the blue he contacts me very upset. He said his ex “did something very stupid” and filed a TRO against him. He said they were having a “normal conversation” one day then two days later he got a call from an officer. He also said she has taken out 4 RO on 4 other exes, which I find crazy. How does one get so many TROs on different people??

He had the court date the other day then messaged me right after saying she filed a continuation so she could get a lawyer. He didn’t have one and doesn’t seem to plan to get one. He says he has “no clue” as to why she is doing this and plans to just stand there and be silent during the final hearing in two weeks (I do keep urging him to get a lawyer but he won’t listen)

My question is: how does this person have no clue as to why this is happening? I grilled him a bit about this and he kinda just shut down. I thought that the report they gave him stated the reasons for her motion to file a TRO. I find it very fishy he is so in the dark.

Is there a way I can look up this filing? I really want to understand what is going on for my own self interest. I’m still friends with this person, but I want to understand what he is capable of before I officially end things. I’m also endlessly curious how something this severe occurred. My understanding is that TROs don’t get handed out like candy, you have to have good evidence, but I could be wrong.
