Somebody Is Using My Phone Number And Now I'm On All Kinds Of Lists And Get 60-100 Txts And Calls Daily; And Now I Know Who's Doing/did It.
Location: Massachusetts. I've had a phone number for decades. Last year I started getting calls asking about my timeshare. I do not, nor have ever had anything to do with a timeshare. People were asking for a name that wasn't mine. A few months later I started getting the dreaded Winred political spam, again addressed to this same person. I have not ever donated to a politician. These are relentless and do not stop, I get 60+ of these messages a day. Then I started getting calls about selling my truck. I am not selling a truck, nor have I ever owned one. I managed to get a person live when they called and they were able to tell me the details of who they were trying to reach.
It's an 85 year old guy who lives in my state, who seems to like to use my phone number for whatever reason. Don't know him, and we're not from the same area. Our phone numbers are completely different, including area code, so it's not an honest mistake, and like I said I've had this number for 20+ years and he's not a previous owner. I have his name, address, number and email.
This phone number is registered with the state for a LLC and my business dealings, along with being my personal phone. I had no spam at all before this. All of the spam is addressed to him. The only advice I had gotten was to call him and basically say cease and desist, but at this point I'm not even sure. Is there something I can do about this?
