Sister Is Trying To Gain Conservertership Over Our Mother
My sister (75) is threating to get my mother (90) declared incompetent. She's not. She lives alone (Ca) and takes care of herself just fine. Pays the bills, drives herself, see's Doctors etc. My sister is narcissist, drama loving piece of work who sponges off Mom for rides, meals and money. What set this off is I bought a new house (in TX, where I live) . Its bigger and I renewed my offer to my mom that if she ever wanted/needed to move, she was welcome and we had room. My sister found out about new house and went nuts. She is threating to get a restraining order? or something to keep Mom from moving out of state. Mom is not planning to move. I suspect my sister see's her money train drying up and lashed out. Its probably bluster, she has no funds for a legal fight. What can she do? What can I do to prevent this? Proving my sister is a POS and my mom is competent would be easy. What would kick this off if she is serious? Location: California
