Pulled Over And Given Citation For Not Having A Seatbelt On. I Had A Seatbelt On The Entire And Dash Cam Footage

Location: Frisco, Texas Tl;dr I got a ticket for seatbelt violation, except I had a seatbelt on the entire time and is visible when he came up to me car to write the citation (if he had body cam, unsure if they do). Officer stated I put it on while I was driving, which is 1000000% false as I never took my seatbelt off or on. I have dashcam but not a view of it on me but I do have audio of my Toyota car 5,10 20 minutes etc before I was pulled over and 30 seconds before I was pulled and there is no seatbelt warning chime going off while I was driving down the highway. Would this defense work for contesting it with the judge? Also it was extremely sunny and this drive was towards the sun and wonder if I can contest the police officer had obstructed view? I have video proof of how sunny it was because I am absolutely shocked that he made up a lie and pulled me over falsely believing I didn’t have a seatbelt on.

I live in Oklahoma but this occurred in Texas. I was driving from Tulsa to a hotel in Frisco and was driving down the highway in traffic on Tuesday evening around 5 pm. I was driving in the slow lane Police officer beside me in another lane suddenly comes over and pulls me over. I exit off the highway and pull into a parking lot. i am extremely confused as to why I’m being pulled over. He said “you’re getting a citation for not having a seatbelt on” before he even asks why I’m being pulled over. Like he was determined to give me a ticket and nothing I said was going to be heard.

I told him “sir, my seatbelt is clearly on. I always wear my seatbelt.” He said “no, you saw me on the highway and put it on”.

Which is absolutely, 100% a lie. I can’t believe a police officer would pull me over for something he made up. He would not listen nor would he budge. From the moment he walked out of the car, he was determined to give me a citation. I’ve never had a ticket before in my life. If I was speeding or didn’t use a blinker I wouldn’t have budged but the fact that I got a citation for something that he falsely accused me of has me angry beyond words. I’m unemployed and full-time student at OSU for radiology and can’t afford a $200 ticket

I have a dashcam front and back. Bad news is that there’s no video on me. But I do have audio and my seatbelt never chimed the entire time leading up to the ticket. Even 30 seconds before I got to a parking lot. I also have video of how insanely bright it was outside because I was heading due west towards the sun and it must have obstructed his view because there’s no way he could believe I didn’t have a seatbelt on. Would this be enough to contest it? I drive a small Toyota yaris if that matters
