Poss Auto Fraud?

Card image cap

Location: SLC Utah

Bought a used 2021 Kia car in 2023. Found out on my own the car had been in a huge accident in cali that was not advertised at any point during the sale. Went back to the dealership and asked for my down payment (6,500) be returned and the contract voided due to misrepresentation of the condition of the car. Basically told to kick rocks, so we took the car and left. I didn’t have the time nor the money for a lawyer and I had just had a baby , just needed a car to get me from point a to point b. More issues came up with the car that the dealership fixed free of charge - though not well… just basically took care of the car, oil changes, rotations, new tires. Normal car maintenance. Well engine light came on so i took it to a kia dealership closer to home and found the battery plate was shattered, terminals needed to be replaced, headlights not properly affixed, and a couple of other small things. They also found FRAME DAMAGE! A twist and mangled frame on the driver side. Kia recommend I take the vehicle back to original dealer and contact a lawyer. I call the original dealer, said they would do an inspection for an additional cost $150-$450 depending on time it took to take it apart and put it back together. I did get in a minor accident in Dec 2024, so I reach out to the collision repair mechanics that worked on it then to help me deduce how much damage was there. they also concluded the accident it Dec would have nothing to due with this. Well the whole front end of the car is toast. Over 19k In damage, missing parts, and broken pieces. I have reached out to every agency I can. You name it I probably have submitted it. I haven’t heard anything from anyone but the Consumer protection agency, who basically said their hands are tied because of the “AS IS”which is common on used cars, and suggested i reach out to the Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division. I submitted a complaint, and we are now approaching 9 days without a response. I feel like i’ve hit everyone road block and don’t know what to do now. I just need my money back so i can get a new AND safe vehicle for my baby.
