Pa - Failure To Show Up For Parking Ticket Court Hearing
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
My car was towed about a month ago in Pittsburgh, PA for road work (tow + ticket added up to about $325 :( ). I requested a court hearing to fight it since the law states signage must be posted 48 hours in advance and I had parked there (no signage present) less than 48 hours before I was towed.
However, I had also requested a virtual hearing because I have now moved out of state. I was told to request a virtual hearing by the Pittsburgh Parking Courts themself on the phone (which I did in writing). My summary trial notice, however, has no virtual link on it. I have attempted to call the parking courts several times to ask about this and no one picks up. It's not worth it for me to fly back to PA to fight this ticket. Will they send out a warrant for my arrest if I don't show up? I already sent the full ticket price + trial fee as collateral.
I have to say, I feel like I'm being robbed by the city, which feels insane, but my main concern is making sure I'm not in risk of having an arrest warrant over this. Thank you!
