My Parents Are Neglecting 50+ Animals In Our House

Card image cap

location: oregon. throw away account to be safe. my parents are the presidents of a foster based animal rescue in our area. the problem is they do absolutely nothing for the animals once they are rescued. y hey claims they are too busy with other work and leave all the responsibilities minus financial on me and my siblings (we are also all allergic to cats and my siblings have asthma so they have health issues from this). i can’t even tell you guys how many cats we have right now, my guess is around 40, and we have multiple large dogs as well, all in a trailer home. the house is an absolute disaster cause it’s basically impossible to keep up with that many animals needs. it’s to the point where your eyes burn from the smell if you walk in. me and my siblings are all adults now so cps can’t get involved, but this has been going on well before we were, and now that we are adults any criticism about the situation is left with “you can move out” except we can’t even find jobs cause we were never taught how to drive and have too many responsibilities to really have time for one anyways. we’ve all been scared of reporting the situation cause 1: we’re scared we would face charges along with our parents, and 2: even if we didn’t, our parents facing them would make us all homeless. i’ve felt so trapped in this situation for years and i don’t know what options i have. me and one of my siblings are moving away for college in august thankfully but the last one will still be stuck here cause they don’t want to go back to school, and i’m terrified of what will happen to the animals when we leave because our parents do nothing for them. please, any kind of advice, legal or not, would be the biggest help.
