My Mother Hit Me, Went To Jail, And Is Now Taking Away Everything I Have.

Location: Florida Long story short, my mother and I (23F) got into an argument that escalated into her putting her hands on me. There’s been a long history of emotional abuse and physical abuse since I was a child, so I finally had enough and decided to call the police. Initially, I thought they would just try and calm her down and give her a warning, but since I’m in Florida, it’s law that she has to be taken away to jail for 24 hours of no contact. She made a call from the jail to my dad saying that I have to move out immediately and give the car she let me have back to her. This car was my late grandmothers, she always said she bought this car with the intent to give it to me, unfortunately, she never wrote that in a will. For the past few months, my mom has been telling me that I have to transfer the car onto my name, and this is one of the few times I really wish I had listened to her. I did some digging, and I found out that my mom never moved the car title onto her name, it’s still in my grandmas name. Is there anything I can do with that so I can hopefully keep the car? It’s my only form of transportation to and from work and without it I’m screwed. TIA!
