My Mom Died. Georgia Usa

Location: Georgia US. This happened four years ago.
She's had an aortic rupture and went to ER and had an emergency surgery.
They put a stint to fix it and the surgery was successful. Next day, she was given a recommendation to walk around the hallway as a recovery exercise. While she was doing that, something happened inside her. I remember her suddenly losing strength while walking with me. The nurse kept trying to prescribe pain killers. I said something clearly happened. A fucking pain killer and doing nothing won't help. I was pleading for him to call the doctor.
The whatever surgery doctor never came that night. My mom was in a coma of sort. The surgery finally began 14 hours later in the late morning next day.
She died.
What is the point of staying in an ICU already in the hospital if it took 14 hours of inaction? I'd like to know how much of a case this is... Is this a norm?
It's so painful to even look into details. As her son, is there a way to call the hospital and read up on paperwork of what happened to my mom and how she died in the hospital within 24 hours? Can I talk to a doctor or surgeon who was there?
