My Elderly Neighbor Is Renting A Rent Controlled Apartment In Long Beach, Ca. The New Landlords Are Evicting Her With Little To No Notice.

Location: Long Beach, CA.—As the title says my partner and I just met my new neighbor. It's a really sweet elderly Cambodian woman. She was telling us that she's been here over 27 years and that the new landlords want to increase the rent for the next occupants. They are evicting her by October 9th. It seems like they didn't give her the required notice and this whole situation seems sketchy. I don't have anywhere else to turn to and I don't want to break any sub rules. Any advice and resources would be appreciated. Thank you all in advance. I'm really worried about this sweet old lady because she's on disability and gets housing support. I don't think she's going to be able to find anything that quickly.

UPDATE: My partner and I just moved in this month. This is the first time that our disabled neighbor came to us and told her story. As another disabled person I panicked. I talked to the neighbors about an hour ago and wanted to update anyone else who is worried. Three things I want to say:

1. I talked to the neighbors about the situation and one of them is already trying to help. Her father is an attorney and she's trying to contact an attorney that deals with this.

2. I'm going to try to get this information to my neighbor. I'm just worried that she might not have the bandwidth to do anything.

2A. Forgot to add that she's on a month to month lease. Her rent is $900 for a 2 bedroom
