Mold, And Landlord Issues (people Told Me To Repost It Here)

Copied from the og post because people told me to post this here too: Okay so for background: last year around December a leak started in my house. At first it was not a big deal, but now a whole kitchen is super moldy. Usually we would have our landlord come and look at it, but that keeps getting pushed away later and later and I don't even know when he's coming at this point. There's mold in the kitchen and we don't even have many usable cabinets anymore because the others are infected with mold. So much mold. I don't own the house, my mom leases it. [In the past our landlord had a construction game that he would send whenever there was a problem. However, that team has been deported and he can't send his team anymore to help with the house because they're gone. The landlord was letting the construction team staying with him as long as they worked for him because he is an immigrant too.]

Basically... What kind of mushroom is that, and how fucked am I?

(Extra: I just turned 18 in august, I'm not ready to move out yet. I will when I can financially.)

Now to add stuff because I'm not sure how this thread works:

I'm eighteen, I live with my mom, twin brother, and older brother (20). We moved to this house in September of 2023 because we were about to be evicted from our old house. We needed to find a new place and a short period of time. Because of the short notice, my mom chose this house because it was the most affordable. It was abandoned for a while before we moved here and our landlord's construction team worked on the house for a while while we first moved in. In 2024 during winter he got a leak in the walls. Within the next few months mold started growing in the kitchen and laundry room (which is also my twin brother's bedroom because the house is small and that was the only last available room.)

I don't remember which month exactly, but early this year the landlord sent two men to look at all the issues. They took pictures of all the mold and left. We haven't seen them since and the mold has gotten much worse since then as well. There's pictures in the og post, but I don't know how to put pictures on this kind of post. Currently, four cabinets are covered in obvious mold, there's a literal hole in the wall in the kitchen, there's a motherfucking mushroom growing out of the wall, and the mold in the laundry room+twin brother's room has turned darker.

I would tell my mom whenever I got more worried about it and she told me she would, "work on it." I just believed her because she's my mom. I didn't realize how bad the situation was until I saw the literal mushroom. So I made the other post and I got so many views and I was shocked. I got tons of great advice and a few people told me to repost it here, so that's what this is basically. I would add the pictures of the moon and the mushroom, but I don't know how to do that on this sub unfortunately. Feel free to go check out the other post for the pictures and information I forgot if you need to.
