Minor Got Threatened Over Text By Other Minors, Is There Any Legal Action That Can Be Taken?

Location: CA

My 14 yr old friend, X, was threatened over text by another 13-14 yr old, Y. I know this sounds petty because Y is just a kid, but we are very concerned about this. Threatening messages have been sent to two other friends regarding X. The number used was not a known number, but we are fairly sure who sent the texts. X has already contacted the police in our city and has been told that they will "look into it". However, X is currently out of state.

The threatening messages include X's first name and their street address. These messages threaten to hurt X and their friends. In one of the messages sent to X's friend, a slanderous lie was told about X. X is being told to rejoin their friend group after they left. The only "bad" thing X did to Y was leaving the friend group.

Two messages sent by Y to X's friends:

"We are coming for [X] and maybe you"

"[X] lives on [street] in [city] CA correct so we will find them"

This very long text sent from Y to X:

"I could 100% assure you right now that if you don't try and fix what you did some people are gonna get hurt, you know who I am in person but l'm not gonna tell you who I am over text rn because I feel bad but you don't need to know. People and your friends are already getting random texts from people because of your resistance. Remember how you said the treats were bullshit, yea well this doesn't seem like bullshit to me this seems pretty real, it's only gonna get worse from here. People who don't deserve to get hurt are getting hurt, please hear some of these people out. Honestly me and so many other people agree that it's the right thing to do, like what do you want us to do? Stop being friends with you, we like you in our friend group but this is ridiculous knowing what you did and the fact that you won't fix it, we can't be friends with you in hs if you gonna do that so please make this right please just listen"

Is there any legal action that can be taken?
