Meth-head Adult Brother Living With My Parents Against Their Will
Location: Oklahoma
As the title says, my (32M) brother has been living in my parents house for the past few years basically against their will. He moved with his family in WV, and returned in 2021 with a new meth habit. He’s violent, angry, he steals, lies, and has a past of sexual assault. He’s technically my half-brother (son my my dad, not my mom), so my dad has always had more of a soft spot for him. Every time they try to kick him out, he either gets violent or my dad feels bad or whatever else.
My parents have tried kicking him out dozens of times, but ultimately failing because they say they’re afraid of him claiming “squatters rights” or something. I personally think he isn’t smart enough to figure that out or even have the mental capacity to go through with it. I don’t even like dealing with the police, but at this point I can’t help but just want to call the cops to drag him out.
My mom and I are both afraid he’d do something like come back and do something violent like burn the house down. He hates her so much and threatens violence basically anytime they argue, which is as often as you could imagine with someone who does meth in your garage. Is there even anything we can do in this situation? It’s just so exhausting, and I’m genuinely worried for my mom’s safety.
