Issued Ticket With Someone Else’s Name/info
Location: Dallas TX, I 22M was driving on a three lane toll road in the right lane about to take the next exit. On the right lane in front of me a cop has someone pulled over on the right lane and is about halfway on the shoulder and halfway in my lane. What I do is get about halfway in the lane to my left and halfway stay in the current lane. I drive for about one more minute and realize I’m getting pulled over. It wasn’t a regular police officer he must’ve been something else like a state trooper or something I’m not sure. When I pull over I realize he pulled someone else over for doing the same thing. I sign the paper he puts in front of me and then he gives me the ticket telling me my court date and when I get home I realize he gave me the wrong ticket. He gave me the ticket with the other persons information (Name, DOB, VIN,Address). Is there something I can do to get my ticket tossed out, or even dispute the actual ticket I got? My preference is getting it tossed out , but I’m not sure if that’s feasible. FYI: I was going 56 in a 70
