In A Wreck-at Fault- Passenger Critically Injured On Ventilator, Insurance Settlement

Location: Louisiana. I was in a wreck in Louisiana that was ruled my fault. My policy with state farm is in Ms. Hit by a company truck. My father son and I were in the car. My son and I had minor injuries but my Dad is still in critical condition and will be going on hospice. I am confused about my policy as I have spoken to different people for the medical claims and have been told different things. I have a 50k per person bodily injury limit and a 100k body injury per accident. One lady told me my policy had a limit of 200k. I have 5k medical per person. does this include pain and suffering. this is my policy, and I thought my insurance company would do what's in my best interest, but I am starting to think I am not going to get a fair settlement. My dad has been in the hospital on a ventilator for months and I am unsure how long he will suffer. He is alert and understands but cannot talk, it is awful to watch. He has had numerous surgeries, and I do not know how much his medical insurance will cover in the future. What should I do to make sure my insurance settlement is fair?
