I Just Received A Call From My Dad That A Family Members License Has Been Suspended Because Of Me Not Registering A Car They Sold Me.

Location: Destin, FL. I bought the car title in hand, instantly insured it then drove up to Missouri to where I live and it’s been collecting dust since. I’ve been busy since then with a new job and we’re closing on a house soon. I have a work vehicle so I never drive the car, but I still have it insured and I’ve never broken any laws with it, let alone drive it. Recently the family member who sold me the car was in an accident, thankful that they are alright, but I woke up today from a call getting told that I was the reason their license was suspended and that it could affect them negatively in their accident. I feel guilty for not finding the time to register the car, but I definitely didn’t think it would affect them as badly as they’re saying. If anyone could help me find what laws were broken and led to this would be a great help, the only thing I could find was that they could still have liability over the car but since it’s just been parked not doing anything I don’t see how that’s an issue. As ignorant as I am, I feel upset with myself that I might have had a negative effect on someone. Any info is welcome, thanks guys ps. I’m going to busy for a bit so I’ll check back in on the post in a few hours
