How To Protect My Ssn

Card image cap

Location: Wisconsin About a week ago I got a call from my mom saying that she needed my social security number for her divorce. She said her lawyer told her she needs it. She also said that she needed it because I was a minor when the papers were signed (My dad still hasn't received papers tho) but my grandma who got divorced when her kids were minors said that she didn't need their social security numbers for anything. I asked everyone I knew and they said that you don't need your child's social security number for a divorce. I told my mom that I wasn't going to give it to her and she said she'd get it another way. My worry is that she's trying to get my social security number to get a loan on my name or try to get disability in my name. How can I protect my social security number? How can I prevent her from getting it? My SSC is in my dad's safe which is at my mom's house. She doesn't have the key, but I'm worried she'll find a way to get it unlocked. What should I do if she gets access to my social security card? I'm genuinely terrified.
