High School District Messed Up My Transcript.

Card image cap

Location: Northern California. I moved there my senior year, and when I got there they said that I was missing credits and would need to attend a continuation high school. I had never failed a class in my life, so I knew something was up. They showed me what they had and I still didn’t believe it, so I ordered an official transcript from my old district. While I was waiting, I did a ton of extra credit to get back where I needed to be just in case I was wrong. They got my transcript and finally admitted that they had not entered in a fair amount of my credits earned, and that it was their fault. At that point, with my extra credit, I had enough to graduate high school and they gave me a diploma. My issue is, I got a diploma from a continuation high school, and I shouldn’t have even been there in the first place. It has been affecting my ability to go to a university, and it generally looks bad having a non traditional diploma. I feel like because of their incompetence, it negatively affected my life and continues to affect my life to this day. Do I have any kind of a case here? Either sue them for their negligence, or try to get my diploma switched over to the normal high school?
