Got A Call From A Detective After They Called My Parents House

Card image cap

Location: Arizona

My elderly parents recently received a call from a detective in Arizona regarding an incident that occurred a few weeks ago. They informed me, and I initially left it at that.

However, I later called the detective back (I realize I probably shouldn’t have, but I didn’t want my parents to worry). During the call, the detective asked me about the incident. I informed him that I would not answer any questions without a lawyer present. He then described the incident, to which I responded that I did not recall it.

The detective stated that if they have sufficient evidence to prove I was involved, they would issue a warrant, and then the call ended.

I have spoken with a criminal lawyer, who indicated that the situation seemed unusual.

I’m feeling quite anxious and uncertain about the next steps. Could you advise me on what I should do at this point?

Thank you for your guidance.

EDIT: Thank you for all the advice. I dont want to go into further details as i don't want to incriminate myself, as my reddit account isnt the most private.
