Getting Sued Cannot Afford Lawyer Scared Of Losing Everything

As per my original post and situation, I am being sued and can no longer afford to pay my lawyer and owe them 12k. Bankruptcy is not an option as I am too old, and have nothing and am already in a horrible Position. I am 60 years old, barely making my bills and barely and living paycheck to paycheck. The law firm said that this will continue on and will rack up even more fees, and that they may have to withdraw What if I get dropped? I’m scared and don’t know what to do, am I over paying for the lawyer or choose the wrong one? This is making me severely anxious as I have exhausted all help in the state of colorado, contacted every legal clinic. Original: Location:colorado As in the title, I’m being sued as part of a litigation matter with regards to a real estate sale I made 2 years ago regarding non disclosure, fraud, and breach of covenant. I ended up retaining legal counsel, however it has been getting dragged out and I can no longer afford to pay the lawyer, as mediation hasn’t been scheduled, depositions are still ongoing, and I still owe the firm 10k+. I’ve exhausted all possible options from seeking legal aide, any clinic or any sort of help. I’ve already spoken with a bankruptcy attorney to attempt to get the suit against me dropped , and being around 60 years old with nothing to my name I don’t know what to do. Any help is appreciated.
