Father Died, Now His Parents Are Selling His Belongings Without Permission

Card image cap

Location: New Hampshire, USA

My father died in late November of complications with stage 4 cancer throughout the body. He had a LOT of stuff, he was a collector of guitars and figurines. Huge Batman fan, probably autistic, whatever. I don't know if he had a will, they haven't told me. They also haven't told me if he's buried yet. But I digress. They're selling his things without asking me. I go to the wake and they're giving away his pop figures. I go to visit and his guitars are gone. I go up for Father's Day and they tell me they're having someone up to appraise his figurines. He wasn't the type of guy to have a will, he never voted, didn't really plan out anything. Which leads me to ask if they're allowed to sell his items? I believe legally his belongings go to the spouse and children first, and he has both my brother and I, yet we've been entirely discluded from every part of the process? It's also been less than a year, which makes me wonder about if they're allowed to sell the items without probate getting involved? I truly don't know how any of this works, so any and all advice would be greatly appreciated
