Divorce

My step mom said she’s gonna divorce my dad when she retires in 5 years. I have no idea why she told me this. I have a brother who is autistic and will need to be taken care of the rest of his life so she’s waiting until he turns 18 after her retirement. My dad stopped working during Covid to take care of my brother full time as my mom is a dr and isn’t home from 7am-7pm most days. Even when she is home she’s busy with everything else. He has no idea and thinks they are in love are they have problems but nothing “serious” wrong. I get her wanting a divorce as they never spend time together and she doesn’t feel the love anymore but I also feel like not telling him she wants a divorce and using him as a convenience after giving up his job is scummy. Absolutely everything is in her name and their finances are separate. Everything was purchased after marriage car house etc. he does get a little bit of money due to early retirement. Is my dad going to get left high are dry? I’m worried I’ll never get to see my brother again as he is so close with my dad and I. We don’t have any other family besides each other.
