Collected Forgotten Casino Funds From A Slot Machine. What Should I Do?

Location: Massachusetts
I was at a casino and inserted my credit ticket into a slot machine that already had someone else's money on it. My ticket was for ~$700 and after inserting it the total showed ~$1700. I'm assuming there was $900-$1000 left in the machine but I'm unsure of the exact value. I realized I had combined our ticket values and had no way to leave the other persons money in the machine and withdraw only my own. I withdrew the ticket and stayed in the area waiting for someone to return looking for their money. A few people came and played on the machine the money was left on but no one came looking for lost money. I eventually left the casino with the cashed money. I realize I should have gone to security right after the fact but did not. After looking into the laws and casino policies on this situation I see that this could be considered theft/larceny. A day has passed since this occurred and I have not heard anything from the casino despite me staying there as a guest at their resort. I'd like to avoid the risk of any criminal charges for something that could easily pass as an accident and am willing to return the money to do so. How would you recommend I proceed?
