Child's Injury At School

Location: Rhode Island
My daughter was playing on the jungle gym at her school when she fell and broke her arm. The following day the school sent out an email to all families stating that the playground was going to be closed due to work that had to be done by the department of public works. I then contacted the school to gather more information regarding if this was in relation to my daughter's fall. We were told that it was not and it was an expected delivery of mulch to the playground.
However, since the email exchange, the playground has remained closed and the structure she was playing on has been removed. Once the email went out from the principal stating that the structure was being removed a parent posted to the local Facebook group regarding this topic. Two comments on the post have me concerned, the first was from the president of the parent teacher group for the school stating "Hi! It’s because a child got hurt and a playground safety inspector came and did an inspection and deemed those pieces to be unsafe, therefore they needed to be removed. Hope this helps." The following comment stated "The reason they have been removed was they were deemed not safe and would no longer be insured by the towns Trust. There is a plan on replacing them along with others at other locations. "
I have no legal background or experience (I don't have a lawyer on call or anything like that) so I figured I would seek advice here. I don't want to sue and get rich, but I would love for her hospital bills to be covered if that were at all possible.
Thank you for reading and your advice
