Car Purchase Fraud

Location: CA

While purchasing a new vehicle from a dealer:

I confirmed OTD pricing with 0 APR via text. I received a full price breakdown, official window sticker, vin, etc.

Under these terms, I allowed the dealer to run both me and my spouses credit and was approved at the price I wanted and the financing.

Upon arrival, I was presented a different pricing breakdown that was thousands of dollars higher than the agreement sent previously. I was told I could either pay this higher amount with the 0 APR OR get the original price with dealer (crazy high) financing, not both. (Even though I explicitly confirmed via text that the price was also with 0 APR)

I refused and eventually left.

I believe this could involve bait and switch advertising, unfair or deceptive business practices, Truth in Lending Act issues, improper use of credit reports, and possible DMV dealer regulations violations.

And it just was really sucky since I had come a loooong way to this dealer so I’m extremely motivated to run down all legal options and if nothing else make sure they don’t do this to someone else.

What are my options?
