Boat Dealership Refusing To Pay For A Mistake Their Mechanics Made

Card image cap

Location: LOUISIANA I bought a new Sea Doo Switch with extended warranty from dealership "A." The boat has had problems since the dealership sold it to us. The following is a timeline of events: -We waited 2 weeks for the boat to be delivered because the dealership had to "build it." -The first day we put it in the lake, it took on water. We immediately took it back to the dealership and had it serviced. They claimed the engine was hydrolocked (this is important for later because that means they knew there was water in the engine) -Boat took on water again, took it back for service, got boat back all covered under warranty -Took boat in for oil change and service, got boat back -Received a letter from dealership A stating they would no longer be servicing our boat as they weren't selling them anymore, good luck finding another place -Boat stopped working in middle of lake, had to get towed in, found a new dealership B to service boat -Dealership B said the engine was wrecked and needed total replacement, contacted warranty company, warranty denied the claim stating defective engine, referred us back to BRP (Sea Doo parent company) -BRP asked for all service records, we sent all records from Dealership A -BRP said after review, dealership A knew there was water in engine and failed to do a pressure test to find out where the leak was coming from, denied claim to replace engine -I argued my case with BRP and escalated the claim, the finally approved engine replacement under a "good faith warranty" -Engine replaced, I owe $1500 in labor -Called dealership A to ask them to cover the cost of labor, they told me to sue them if I want, but they won't be paying because they did nothing wrong

We've been paying on this boat and paying insurance for a year and haven't been able to use the boat in that amount of time. I feel ripped off and wonder if it's worth it to sue Dealership A for the $1500.
